Post Production Management
I love editing, but I also love post production as well. I've spent time learning all aspects of post and how vital each role is. As a post production manager, I bring to the table both sides of post- the creative and technical. I understand that the client wants a beautiful product but I also have the technical knowledge to complete it.
As many companies transition from Final Cut to Avid, I am already ahead of that since I've been trained in both programs. I can effectively communicate with the post staff on how to make the transition and train them on how each program deals with similar issues.
To me, anyone can manage a show if it goes right. Since there is always some technical issue that comes up, that is very I come in. I keep up to date on the latest post production and production products. I stay steps ahead of everyone to ensure a proper delivery to the client.
I stay within the given budget and keep constant communication with the producers so they know where the project is. As an online editor, I have the skills to make any adjustments at the last minute - sound, graphics, titles, and picture changes. I make sure the deliverable are addressed and that each show is media managed and archived properly.
